About
At Barre Family Child Care, our goal is to be a home away from home for your children.
Owned by Khadija Barre, a mother of four with a degree in early childhood education, this home-based neighborhood licensed child care center has been located in North Cambridge since 2007. Khadija has worked in the child care field for 20 years and run her own business for the past 12.
She is fully licensed and certified by the State of Massachusetts’ Department of Early Education and Care. She is also a former member of the City of Cambridge’s Early Childhood Task Force, which worked to improve early education and care throughout the city.
We provide safe, nurturing, high-quality, affordable child care designed to help your infants and toddlers grow cognitively, behaviorally, socially and emotionally. Our emphasis on early education includes daily activities that incorporate music, reading, dancing, outdoor walks, local field trips and simple science projects, as well as unstructured play.
Note from Khadija Barre, owner and director of Barre Family Child Care
I love my job because I love working with kids. I enjoy watching them grow and reach developmental milestones, like teething, eating solid food, rolling over and walking. I treat your children as if they were my own, and I provide a loving, caring, warm and nourishing environment.
I have two assistants, and all of us are state-qualified, certified in first aid and CPR, and committed to ongoing professional development training.
